Visualizing ideas has never been such an easy process as it is with Shutterstock lightboxes. Lightboxes Shutterstock allow you to utilize the entire array of the stock photo bank’s images and remember those works that may come in handy later.

Here is an example of a lightbox (click on the image).

Creating lightboxes on Shutterstock

All you need to create a lightbox on Shutterstock is to log in to Shutterstock with your credentials, and you are ready to browse and create lightboxes. Here’s the step-by-step process for creating a lightbox:

  1. Search for images: enter the search query(ies) that describe the image or concept you are looking for.
  2. Add an image to the lightbox: Click on the icon Create a lightbox on Shutterstock, located in the top left corner of the image (on the search results page).
  3. Select “New lightbox” from the dropdown menu (or choose an existing one).
  4. Name your lightbox: use a name that describes what you are saving.
  5. Continue searching for other images and adding them to the lightbox you created.

It’s that simple! Here are a few more tips to enhance your lightbox:

  • Focus on the theme – while adding supplementary items to the collection is great, it’s better to save them in a separate lightbox.
  • Refine your search query using keywords from the images you have already found that are suitable.
  • Be selective about the images you add – ensure that all images accurately illustrate the theme you need.
  • Share your lightbox: you can click “Send” at the top of the lightbox to email the link to yourself or friends, or click “Share” and enter another Shutterstock user’s name. You can also send yourself a link to the lightbox and then share it on Facebook or Twitter.
  • If you are using the Shutterstock for iPad app, you can also share a link to your lightbox via email, Facebook, or Twitter with just one tap on the “Connect” button in the upper right corner of the image detail page or on the lightbox page.
