iStockphoto, together with the esteemed photo magazine Life, has announced a new photography contest. They named it “Together,” meaning “Unity” or “Togetherness.”

Participants are expected to creatively interpret and reveal the meaning behind the contest’s title in their images. Unleash your imagination and take part!

Each entrant may submit up to 5 photos. The submission window is from June 14 to June 26, 2011. A key rule is that submitted images cannot be sold through other online stock photo sites or photo platforms during the contest.

These photos may be sold exclusively on iStockphoto. When submitting to Life magazine, you can also include them in the iStock Editorial Collection.

Following preselection on July 14, 2011, 50 entrants will be chosen, and their photos will be published on Life.com at istock.life.com.

These 50 entrants advance to the second round. After that, a jury of representatives from Life and iStockphoto will select the grand prize winner of “Together” and the runner-up.

The jury-selected winner of “Together” will receive a Paid Editorial Assignment (valued at $1,500) plus an additional $500 for expenses.

There will also be a viewer’s choice winner for the photography contest “Together.”

Anyone interested can vote for the participant who will receive the People’s Choice Award – a complete Nik Software bundle (valued at $600).

A runner-up based on audience voting will also be awarded.

Voting will take place at istock.life.com. To vote, you’ll need to sign in via Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, or Google.

Both runner-ups – in the audience vote and the jury selection – will receive a LIFE print (valued at $300).

According to the contest rules for “Together,” the winners’ names will be published on November 8, 2011, on the Life and iStockphoto websites.
