Contest for photographers by iStockphoto

The iStockphoto photo bank in collaboration with the prestigious photo magazine Life has announced a new contest for photographers. They named this contest “Together” which translates to “Вместе” or “Unity” in Russian.

The significance of this contest’s name needs to be reflected and expressed in your photographs. Get creative and participate in the contest!

Participants can submit up to 5 photographs for the contest. The submission period for contest works is from June 14 to June 26, 2011. One of the key conditions for participants is the restriction on selling contest works through other online photo banks and other photo resources.

These photographs can only be sold on the iStockphoto photo bank. When submitting contest works to Life magazine, you can also include them in the iStock Editorial Collection.

Following the preliminary selection on July 14, 2011, 50 participants will be chosen, and their photographs will be published on Life.com. You can view these contest photographs at istock.life.com.

These 50 contestants move on to the second round of the contest. After that, a jury composed of representatives from Life and iStockphoto will select the winner of the “Together” contest and the runner-up.

The winner chosen by the contest jury will receive the grand prize Paid Editorial Assignment (valued at $1500) and an additional $500 for expenses.

A viewer’s choice winner will also be determined for the contest for photographers “Together”.

Everyone interested in the contest will be able to vote for the participant they believe should take first place and receive the “audience favorite” award – a complete Nik software package (valued at $600).

Additionally, the runner-up in the viewer’s voting will also receive a prize.

Voting will take place at istock.life.com. To vote, you will need to log in via Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, or Google.

Both participants who finish second in the viewer voting and the jury selection will receive LIFE print prizes (valued at $300).

According to the contest rules for photographers “Together” the names of the winners will be published on November 8, 2011, on the Life and iStockphoto websites.
