Music on Shutterstock

What everyone has been waiting for has finally happened! Music is now available for sale on Shutterstock, meaning audio content is here. Read the original news in translation.
We have long noticed the tremendous growth in video creation and uploads to our stock, and we regularly heard from our authors loud and clear, time and again, that we could offer them something more to help their works come to life.
And now, meet: we are launching audio content sales on Shutterstock, thereby expanding the content offering for buyers and providing musicians with a new way to earn from their talent.
Shutterstock Music
When choosing a name for this new service, we decided to move away from the word “audio” because it does not reflect the full spectrum of emotions we want to offer authors — only Shutterstock Music or Music on Shutterstock.
When searching the site, you will find amazing, high-quality music suitable for your projects, whether it’s something calm like nature, or something bluesy for games, or perhaps a classic composition by Vivaldi that will perfectly fit into your story.
No matter what you are working on, we have exactly what you need.
User Experience
Searching for music is fundamentally different from searching for images because you can listen to only one track at a time. We have created a specific music search that is easy to use and saves you time.
In addition to keywords, you can specify parameters like genre and mood, which will help you narrow down your search even before you hit the “play” button (you can also use filters).
We have managed to set up a fantastic audio player that will not stop playing the track even if you leave the page. We also curate playlists to help you in your initial search for the right music.
Today, you can find our music site by going to shutterstock.com/music. Soon we will add a link to the Music section from the image and video search sections.
Licensing Music on Shutterstock
It will come as no surprise that we have one of the simplest licenses on the market, with just two price types: $79 for a standard license and $499 for an extended license. Both prices come with a launch project discount, so you can try buying music now at up to 30% off.
Our goal is to make music licensing on Shutterstock easy for everyone: online video creators, creative directors, heads of music and radio companies, and for anyone who wants high-quality music to accompany their project.
Market for Music Sales
We are creating a new source of income for musicians online by utilizing the vast audience of Shutterstock, which now has access to music directly from its creators worldwide.
We started building the initial database for the new section with the help of our content partners, but, like with other types of work (photos, illustrations, and videos), we plan to allow musicians themselves to participate in shaping the offerings in the near future.
