Registration on iStockphoto

iStockphoto is perhaps one of the oldest and most authoritative microstock agencies on the Internet. If your works sell successfully on iStockphoto, it means you are clearly not a beginner microstocker, as the iStock agency is very demanding regarding the theme and execution of works, and it’s not easy to break into it. However, the first step is to register on iStockphoto. So, the most important point I want to mention before starting the registration is the Russian-language interface of iStockphoto (Getty Images). Yes, iStockphoto is the first foreign microstock that implemented a Russian version of its service, for which we are very grateful and, so to speak, bow low.
Go to the microstock’s website by following this link http://www.istockphoto.com/ or by clicking the banner of the photo stock in the right column.
Immediately select the Russian-language interface in the upper right corner:
On the main page of the microstock, find the text block titled “Register Today.” At the end of the block, there is a button “Register,” click on it and proceed to the registration form page.
In the registration form that appears on the iStockphoto site, you will need to fill out several fields, namely:
– Your email address. It is advisable that the mailbox is opened on a reliable server, and do not forget to check your spam filter settings to avoid missing emails from iStockphoto.
– Desired username on the iStockphoto site (must be unique).
– Password for logging into your iStockphoto account. It is advisable to create a password of at least 8 characters using letters and numbers.
– Repeat the password.
You will also need to select your country of residence from the dropdown list and specify your registration purpose on iStockphoto. Choose, for example, “Business.” Next, another field with a list will appear – select “Sole Proprietor” and then choose your work direction from the next list.
At the end of the form, you need to check the box to agree to the membership agreement terms for iStockphoto and click the “Join” button to agree.
On the next page, iStockphoto will prompt you to double-check the data entered in the previous form; if everything is correct, click “Confirm.”
You will see a form like this:
Since you intend to sell your works on iStockphoto, you should click on the “Become our Contributor” option or simply “Continue.” After that, you will enter your iStockphoto account. And that’s it – registration on iStockphoto is complete.
I would also like to add some useful information. When you log into your iStock account by entering your username and password, be sure to fill in the necessary information about yourself in your profile; for this, click on the “Edit My Profile” option. Enter your first and last name in Latin letters (in English)! Do not forget that even though the interface of iStockphoto is Russian, all data must still be entered in English.
You do not need to fill in the MSN and AIM account fields. In the “Address” field, enter the street, house number, and apartment number. In the “City” field, enter the name of your settlement. In the “State or Province” field, you should either enter the region or simply repeat the name of your city. Also, do not forget to select from the dropdown list the name of the state you live in, enter your postal code, and provide a contact phone number in international format. In general, you will need to fill in all fields marked with an asterisk in your profile on iStockphoto.
After completing your registration on iStockphoto and filling out all the necessary fields in your profile, you can smoothly transition to the test and exam on the microstock. But that’s a topic for the next article about iStockphoto.
I wish to sell my photos
