New Skrill fee increase

Recently, our beloved Skrill notified us about another planned change in the commission fees of the payment system. If you missed this informational letter from the payment system, I want to mention that the main changes to the rates will come into effect on October 17, 2016. However, there are also earlier changes.

Here’s the screenshot showing the list of new Skrill rates and the dates when they will be implemented.

As far as I remember, the last time such commission changes were made was in 2013. The most significant changes for regular Skrill users like me and you include a 30% increase in withdrawal fees and nearly a twofold increase in the fee for transferring money between wallets within the payment system.

So, if you plan to withdraw money from Skrill to a payment card in the next month, try to do it before August 31 to save 1 euro.

For Skrill VIPs, there will also be rate changes, although not as noticeable. So, if you want to start saving on the system’s services, VIP status is the way to go.

But note that to become a member of the Skrill VIP program, you’ll need to ensure a minimum turnover each quarter. For example, for a bronze VIP participant, this turnover should be at least 6000 euros per quarter.

However, for real savings on system fees and commissions, you should aim for the Silver VIP status in Skrill. For instance, with this status, there will be no charges for withdrawing money to a bank account or card.

But to get Silver status, you will need at least 15,000 euros in turnover.
