New Increase in Skrill Fees

Recently, our beloved Skrill announced another planned change to the payment system’s commission fees. If you haven’t paid attention to this notification from the payment system, I want to point out that the main rate changes will take effect on October 17, 2016. However, some changes will come into force earlier.

Here, in the screenshot, is the list of new Skrill rates and the dates from which they will be applied.

The last time, if I recall correctly, such changes to fees were introduced in 2013. Among the adjustments that may most affect regular Skrill users like you and me – is a 30% increase in withdrawal fees and almost a twofold increase in the rate for transferring money between wallets within the payment system.

So, if you plan in the coming month to withdraw money from Skrill to a payment card, try to do it before August 31 to save 1 euro.

For Skrill VIPs, there will also be changes to rates, although not as noticeable, so if you want to start saving on system services, your direct route is to become a VIP.

However, note that to join the Skrill VIP program, you will need to ensure a minimum quarterly transaction volume. For example, for a Bronze VIP member, such turnover must be at least 6,000 euros per quarter.

For meaningful savings on system fees and charges, you should aim for Silver VIP status in Skrill. For example, with this status, there will be no fee when withdrawing money to your bank account or card.

However, to obtain Silver status, you will need a turnover of at least 15,000 euros.
