Single Image Sales on Shutterstock
1
On the Shutterstock platform, a new pricing option (tariff) was announced in a news post published on September 28. What is this product exactly? The following text is a translation of that announcement.
We’re excited to share a new single, pay-per-download product created in response to buyer requests, which we believe will help Shutterstock contributors increase their earnings. This product is currently in testing.
Here’s what you need to know:
- For the first time, buyers in select markets can purchase a single image at a time;
- Our existing subscription plans and royalty rates will not be affected by the introduction of single sales;
- We’re using a percentage-based royalty model for these new single sales under the Standard license. In the future, we’ll test and/or launch single sales under other license types to find the most beneficial offers for contributors.
Product details
Under the new single-image pricing we’re testing, buyers can purchase any Shutterstock image under a Standard license at a set price. This product is designed to attract new customers who currently do not buy on Shutterstock.
Royalties for these single purchases will range from 20% to 30%, depending on your all-time earnings on Shutterstock. We structured these payouts to be as close as possible to what you currently receive for On Demand sales.
You’ll see these new sales in your stats, in the earnings table on the “Download Statistics” page under the “Single & Other Downloads” column.
Below are the Shutterstock royalty rates:
These royalty rates apply to our new product and to any future products we test or introduce, unless a new rate category is created to support new offerings.
For more detailed information, please review our royalty schedule.
These changes are intended to better serve our customers and to increase your image sales. As always, thank you for being part of the Shutterstock community.
