What Content Does Shutterstock Need?
0
The Shutterstock team has shared a useful method to understand what content the stock site currently needs. Often buyers can’t find very specific assets, and that’s when the agency steps in to source them. Here’s the explanation:
Contributors often ask us what types of content we’re looking for. To answer this question, we created a dedicated Twitter account. We post buyers’ specific requests there (covering photos, footage, and illustrations) as soon as they come in — the rest is up to you.
Hit follow @ShutterstockReq. (Tip: even without a Twitter account, you can still check that page periodically to see what content the stock site needs right now.)
A few things to remember about our requests:
- All submissions must go through submit.shutterstock.com. Please don’t try to upload via Twitter;
- If we need commercial images featuring people, we’ll include “MR” in the tweet (this means a Model Release is required);
- We use hashtags to identify request types (#video, #photos, #illustrations). If you see #images, it means we’re accepting all types (including vectors/illustrations);
- Content will be reviewed and approved according to Shutterstock’s standard process.
If you have questions about specific content requests, feel free to tweet us or email [contentrequest@shutterstock.com](mailto:contentrequest@shutterstock.com).
Thanks for reading, and happy shooting!
Best regards, Scott and the team.
